Getting Ready for BI 4 Migration

BI 4 Migration

This document will be working document. I am getting ready myself for a BI 4 Migration. I will be keeping all my observation and difference here. I will be refining document at the end of Migration.

End of Life for Desktop Intelligence:

First step will be thinking about Desktop Intelligence report conversion to Webi.

- Desktop Intelligence Maintenance will end by 2015 and Support by 2017.

First Difference:

Whenever you think of BO migration, look on open doc syntax. Don't know why it is changed always. So it means ... changed again.

New absolute OpenDocument links need to use the new default

URL Format: http:///BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?&&...&

If you are migrating reports with existing links from an XI 3.x release platform, resolve the issue by

setting up the following redirect in your web server:

• Redirect: ../OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp

• To: ../BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp

Note: Important part is /BOE/ in the Link

Tip: InfoObject IDs are changed when migrating documents from one CMS to another. It is recommended that the CUID be used, which is preserved during migration.
